Tanto, Hokkaido oak.
Tozando’s Tanto is a basic aikido training tool made of high quality Hokkaido oak. The Tanto is used especially for training distance, timing and technique against armed attacks. It is used to develop accuracy, body control and timely reactions in a safe training environment.
The wood used in the manufacture is planted, grown and processed entirely in Hokkaido, Japan – the same place where the finished training weapons are made. This ensures consistent material quality and careful quality control throughout the process. Hokkaido oak is a dense and durable wood that stands up well to repeated use and retains its shape with proper maintenance.
Tanto’s design is traditional and balanced. It feels firm but light in the hand, allowing for a natural and controlled movement. The careful finishing makes the surface comfortable to hold without excessive slipperiness.
Dimensions: length about 29 cm, weight about 100 g. This stump is an excellent choice for both the beginner and the experienced practitioner who appreciates durable material and a traditional finish.
