The Matsu is made from fine cotton and dyed with traditional Japanese aizome indigo in a careful multi-step process. The colour changes with your practice and becomes your own. It has a rubber koshi-ita and seven rows of stitching across the belt, and the pleats are ironed and stitched to hold their shape. Natural indigo can bleed, especially onto a white dogi.
